PRAYER

One of the great gifts God gave to man is prayer. A gift that gives us access to our father. A means of communicating our desires to our father. Prayer is mankind exercising dominion over the earth by giving God the freedom to intervene in the earth’s affairs. It shows our total dependence on God. But where have we gotten it wrong?  If Luke 18:1 can say “men ought always to pray, and not to faint", it shows the necessity of prayer in the life of a man. Today people find it hard to pray. Prayer is now tagged to be a time-consuming activity. Some people even say it is meant for ministers of God alone. Some might say let me use my time for something meaningful instead of praying. People now see prayer as a burden. Who has bewitched us? Elijah, for instance, a human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn’t rain, and it didn’t. Not a drop for three and a half years and then he prayed that it would rain, and it did. The showers came and everything started growing again. If a man can d

Encountering God (The Zacchaeus Story)

“ For My thoughts are not your thoughts nor are your ways My ways” says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts” Isa. 55:8-9 (NKJV ) Encounter means counter-acting collision between two persons which cause a change in the lives and direction of one of the person. It also means meeting face-to-face unexpectedly or suddenly. Encounter is needed in our walk as believers as it would help us have a clean heart Jer. 17:9-10.  All those who became friends of God did not become so suddenly; they became so as a result of their encounter with God. God’s plans and ways are made known to a man within the circumference of an encounter. Have I encountered God? This is the question every one of us as believers should always ask ourselves. Encounter is not just a one-time experience; it is a life-long experience.  There are levels of our encounter with God; we have the saving/salvation encounter. This is the encoun

OVERVIEW OF EPHESIANS 1

Ephesus is located near the western shores of modern-day Turkey, where the Aegean Sea meets the former estuary of the River Kaystros, about 80 kilometers south of Izmir, Turkey. According to legend, the Ionian prince Androclos founded Ephesus in the eleventh century B.C. The legend says that as Androclos searched for a new Greek settlement, he turned to the Delphi oracles for guidance. The oracles told him a boar and a fish would show him the new location. One day, as Androclos was frying fish over an open fire, a fish flopped out of the frying pan and landed in the nearby bushes. A spark ignited the bushes and a wild boar ran out. Recalling the oracles’ wisdom, Androclos built his new settlement where the bushes stood and called it Ephesus. Another legend says Ephesus was founded by the Amazons, a tribe of female warriors, and that the city was named after their queen, Ephesia. Temple of Artemis Much of Ephesus’s ancient history is unrecorded and sketchy. What is known is that in th

The Parable of the Sower.

Matthew 13:1-13 Say this with me I, [your name], am a fertile ground for the seed of God.  Today, I declare that my heart is filled with minerals conditioned to nourish the seeds of the word of God to germinate, yielding a hundredfold. I declare that my heart is receptive to the knowledge of the word of God. The word of God transforms every part of me and my endeavour. Today, my ground is secure against birds that want to steal the seed and beasts that want to trample on my seed. I declare I'm not choked by the cares of life. My heart is straight, focused. As I read and study the word, I'm transformed until I become the word. Thank you, Father, for this is my reality in your word. Praise God!

THERE IS A MAN CALLED JESUS

Image
Galatians 4:1-4, Luke 2:11, 1st Peter 5:7, Matthew 16:14-17 Who is Jesus? Jesus is the son of God and the son of man, who was promised in the old testament as the saviour of mankind. He was born under the law so that everything said concerning him will be fulfilled. He was born in a manger, he started his ministry at the age of (30) thirty and was fully known as the son of God when he went for baptism and the evidence was shown through a dove and the confession of John the Baptist (the forerunner) During Jesus Christ's earthly ministry, his contemporaries thought that he was Elijah or john the baptist reincarnated. ( matt 16:14), while others claimed he was a false prophet ( Luke 7:39) and a friend of sinners. Many worshipped and adored him, while the authorities hated him. Despite these wearying views of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, God's word give us clear and eloquent descriptions of who he hie both past, present, and future scriptures explained that Jesus acting on

Christ's Ambassador

An ambassador is simply known as an official messenger and representative of a country in a foreign country.  An Ambassador is given freedom in a foreign country. They are highly respected to perform activities especially in protecting the interest of their country in the foreign country.  Christians are known to be the ambassador of Christ in this world in which we have been commissioned to present and protect the interest of our country. 2 Corinthians 5:20 says “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation .”  This is the great task committed to us by our country leader Jesus Christ to bring unto his kingdom the people of the world and we cannot afford to ignore this assignment. An ambassador representing his country in a foreign country will never forget his primary assignment in that country so also we must not forget our primary assignment. The foreign count
