INTERVIEW WITH BRO TIMOTHY SOLARIN

Interviewer: Hi. Can we meet you? 

 Bro Solarin Timothy: My name is Timothy Oluwatimileyin Solarin. I am from a family of 7. I hail from Ikenne in Ogun State. I was born on September 3rd. I am a final year student at the University of Ilorin, faculty of management science, department of finance.


Interviewer: What course did you choose initially?

Bro  Solarin Timothy: Finance

Interviewer: Fantastic! Would you mind sharing your admission story with us? Was it your first Jamb and how did you feel when you finally got in?

Bro Solarin Timothy: Hmm... I have been to the polytechnic before, Yaba College of Technology to be specific, 2014/2015 academic session and I finished in March 2017, due to a strike and delay from the school management. I wrote another jamb in 2018 which I selected UNILORIN and I had 271 in my jamb and 84% in my post utme and then the Lord did it himself.

Interviewer: Was there any point during this wait that you felt like giving up on a University education?

Bro Solarin Timothy: Not at all because I was very sure that the Lord will do it even as he has  

Interviewer: Give us a brief detail of your educational background. Primary & Secondary.

Bro Solarin Timothy: I attended Jolly day nursery and primary from the little class to pry 4 after which I had to change schools due to some reasons and I had my first leaving school certificate at St. Thomas Nursery and Primary School, Oworo. 

 For my secondary school, I attended Bola Immaculate College, from JSS 1 to SS3... The Lord helped me was the best in commercial class in my own time and till now my account teacher will always refer to me. I also served then as the punctuality prefect in Ss2 and SS3. But all of these were good and wonderful memories

Interviewer: So, are you single in the Lord or Single and searching or engaged or maybe married?

Bro Solarin Timothy: I am single in the Lord

Interviewer: Asides from being a fine brother in the Lord, what other activities are your hobbies?

Bro Solarin Timothy: I love playing football and I love music

Interviewer: Would you mind sharing your experience as a child sir?

Bro Solarin Timothy: Hmm... I can recall that I was kind of stubborn and very timid but all thanks to God that things have changed.

Interviewer: I can imagine. We give God the glory! πŸ₯³

Interviewer: What department do you belong to at church and are you currently holding any position?

Bro Solarin Timothy: Well, at Halleluyah Chapel, I am currently in the Sunday School department, Prayer band, Drama unit, and  Evangelism unit.

Interviewer: Are you holding any position in the unit and the church?

Bro  Solarin Timothy: As regards the units mentioned no. By the grace of God, I am the Youth President of the church

Interviewer: I must say that I am fascinated by your personality. What if you are not currently studying this course you are studying, what course would you rather be studying?

Bro Solarin Timothy: Hmm... That would have been Accounting

Interviewer: Oh... I was thinking theology πŸ˜‚. Do you have a side hustle or work asides from schooling? If yes, would you mind telling us about it and how you started?

Bro Solarin Timothy: Hmmmn... Well, I am into graphics, typesetting, and bag making. I started graphics in 2012 and also bag making in 2020. My bag-making experience began during the pandemic time and I was able to learn for about 3 months because we were two learning from my boss and she paid more attention to me getting it because I paid for the coaching.  Thank God that I can sew well now although I still need to learn other aspects of the skill.

Interviewer: What day do you consider the best and worse day of your life?

Bro Solarin Timothy: I really can't remember a day to be termed as worse but to consider the best day of my life, asides from the day I got baptized, I can say for now that the period of 2020 during my building was a very special time for me, so it's not a day...

Interviewer: After University Education, what's next sir?

Bro Solarin Timothy: Hmm... There's an assignment ahead of me and with that, I develop my bag-making skill

Interviewer: If I ask you to give a shout-out now to people who have influenced your journey in Life greatly, who and who would you give a shout-out to?

Bro Solarin Timothy: Hmm... At this point, there are a lot of people who have influenced my life, I can't forget Pastor M. B. Ajiroba, Mr. Oregbesan Owolabi, Mrs. Ikpase Cordelia, Mr. Asaolu Tobi, Mr. Gboyega, Bro Paul Oyinloye, Bro Gideon, Sis Adeola Adekeye, to mention few

Interviewer: Who are those you consider your closest pals at Hallelujah Chapel? People you would miss too when you graduate from here

Bro Solarin Timothy: I have a lot of them but to mention a few Bro Elijah, Sis Olaide, Bro Juwon, Sis Tolani, Sis Oreofe, Bro Samuel Idowu, Bro Gbenga, and others

Interviewer: Do you have a mentor? Who is this person and why did you choose the person as a mentor?

Bro Solarin Timothy: Well, I am yet to fully call a person my mentor but I have someone in my heart already and I see that we are really patterned the same way based on his experiences and also with the things I am going through... I see some correlation

Interviewer: Would you like to share your Christian experience?

Bro Solarin Timothy: Well, my journey as a believer, has been gradual and I thank God for this, the level of growth I have experienced is just based on the dealings of God and this dealing revealed some of his dimensions to me

Interviewer: How are you able to juggle School, Fellowship with God, Positions at school/church, and business? That is a lot for anyone to handle. Can you share actionable tips on how you were able to work everything out without one affecting the other?

Bro Solarin Timothy: Everyone knows that it is not very easy to handle all together so one has to be sacrificed for the other. fellowship, office, and business need time and attention so you have to select the one which is a priority... So the assignment for me will always be a priority because it's an avenue for me to impact and lay a good legacy

Interviewer: What would be your advice to non-believers?

Bro Solarin Timothy: My advice to them is to forsake their evil ways and then cling to Jesus who can give them life in abundance...

Interviewer: With the rise of false pastors and funny doctrines, what would you advise believers?

Bro Solarin Timothy: Like Jesus said we should take heed and let the word of God be our guide... Also, we should trust the spirit of God for discernment per time and not forget the God of the Bible

Interviewer: What is your favorite Bible verse and why do you like this verse?

Bro Solarin Timothy: I have a lot of favorite bible verses ooo... 2Tim.4.17  (But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Also, I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion because it's always strengthened my heart

Interviewer: What was your first impression of Halleluyah Chapel? Is that impression still intact till now?

Bro Solarin Timothy: My first impression about the church is that they close late and as I have been notified before that the discipline is high but thank God it's all working for my good

Interviewer: Describe daddy Ajiroba in 3 words.

Bro Solarin Timothy: Father, disciplinarian, and a pastor
