INTERVIEW WITH BRO IDOWU SAMUEL
Interviewer: Good evening sir. You are welcome here.
Bro Samuel Idowu: Good evening ma, thank you.
Interviewer: can we meet you?
Bro Samuel Idowu: I'm Samuel Temitope Idowu, an indigene of Osun state, Odo-Otin local government. I was born and raised in Lagos state. Also a student of the University of Ilorin, department of Statistics.
Interviewer: What course did you choose initially or was it your first choice?
Bro Samuel Idowu: I chose Statistics.
Interviewer:Would you mind sharing your admission story with us? Was it your first Jamb and how did you feel when you finally got in?
Bro Samuel Idowu: I got into Unilorin on my third trial. I couldn't gain admission on my first trial even though I was offered Chemical Engineering by LASPOTECH but because I didn't pass Physics I had to forfeit the admission and I had to take NECO the following year, then on my second trial I gained admission into LASPOTECH now known as Lagos State University for Science and Technology to study Statistics even though I put in for Chemical Engineering then.
In 2018, after I finished with my ND program in 2017, I took Jamb again choosing Unilorin and Statistics as my first choice course of study and I got admitted.
On how I felt gaining admission into the school then, it was a great feeling and I was really happy.
Interviewer: Was there any point during this wait that you felt like giving up on University education?
Bro Samuel Idowu: Not at all ma, the education system in Nigeria has successfully made anyone with just the ND certificate close to irrelevant in our time.
Interviewer: So, are you single in the Lord or Single and searching or engaged or maybe married?
Bro Samuel Idowu: I'm single at the moment.
Interviewer: Give us a brief detail of your educational background. Primary & Secondary.
Bro Samuel Idowu: I had my primary education in Ogun state at Boluwatife nursery and primary school, then my secondary school education in Lagos at Tunkem International College.
Interviewer: Were you a prefect in school? You look like someone perfect for head boy or maybe social prefect.
Bro Samuel Idowu: I was the head boy at my primary school and i held none in my secondary school. My secondary school teachers then didn't have foresight like you do maybe.
Interviewer: Asides being a fine brother in the Lord, what other activities are your hobbies?
Bro Samuel Idowu: Listening to Music comes top, then football then digging deep.
Interviewer: Alright, would you mind sharing your experience as a child.
Bro Samuel Idowu: I was a really playful child back then but a good child by the way🌝. But in all I did then, I kept to myself a lot and that did cost me a lot of my friends. This part of me grew up with me even though I really tried curbing it, but you know what they say about old habits, right? Maybe one day I'll get past it, just maybe.
Other than these, I didn't have that explosive childhood and I think this owe largely to the kind of geographical area I grew up in and the person I am. I hope I didn't disappoint nor bore you😂.
Interviewer: Not bored a bit. Just wondering how someone can be playful and still a good boy in a Nigerian home😂
The last I remembered, those two words rarely work together. But we can move on from that😂
Bro Samuel Idowu: You might need to meet my Mom on that.
Interviewer: What department do you belong to at church and are you currently holding any position?
Bro Samuel Idowu: Ushering Unit
Drama Unit
Interpretation unit
Evangelism unit
Prayer band Unit
I'm the current head of the Ushering Unit, the costume manger of Drama Unit. Also, the Bible and Evangelism coordinator and the church's male football team Captain.
Interviewer: Do you have a side hustle or work asides schooling? If yes,would you mind telling us about it and how you started.
Bro Samuel Idowu: Yes, I do. I'm first and foremost a teacher then a photographer.
I've always loved teaching right from time, it's one thing that gives me joy whenever I get the opportunity to do so.
I started to learn the art of photography in 2015 and I'm looking to get more knowledge in the field in the nearest future.
Interviewer: I love how this interview is giving me a view of you that I never knew existed.
Maybe someday soon, you can teach me photography.
How are you able to juggle School, Fellowship with God, Positions at school/church and business? That is a lot for anyone to handle. Can you share actionable tips on how you were able to work everything out without one affecting the other.
Bro Samuel Idowu: It's difficult to be honest, I remember telling the past Youth leader, Bro Emmanuel, to please let me off some of the positions while conducting an interview then. It's God's grace that has kept me going and I really mean this here.
Also, I see this as a privilege to serve in the Lord's vineyard coupled with the fact that I know I'm in my formative years and that I never can tell what the future holds for me.
On actionable tips, I think I'm stubborn. An attribute as in doggedness
Interviewer: What day do you consider the best and worse day of your life?
Bro Samuel Idowu: I haven't given that a thought yet
Interviewer: I must say that I am fascinated by your personality. What if you are not currently studying this course you are studying, what course would you rather be studying?
Bro Samuel Idowu: Maybe Political science. But given that, the course is not available for science student it may just have been Estate Management But all these choices are in hindsight now.
Interviewer: After University Education, what's next?
Bro Samuel Idowu: I'm planning to have obtain my masters in Estate Management, God willing.
Interviewer: We pray that God help you bring this to fulfillment.
If I ask you to give a shout-out now to people who have influence your journey in Life greatly, who and who would you give a shout-out to
Bro Samuel Idowu: My Parents, my teachers, friends and Pastor M.B Ajiroba
Interviewer: Who are those you consider your closest pals at Hallelujah Chapel? People you would miss too when you graduate from here
Bro Samuel Idowu: I'll miss Pastor M.B Ajiroba and everyone else.
Close pals, uhm!!! Can we just skip that, please.
Interviewer: What would be your advice to non-believers?
Bro Samuel Idowu: Jesus is the son of God through whom provision has been made for salvation.
CACGHB 197 verse 8
```It fills, it fills, that hall of jubilee!
Make haste, make haste! ‘tis not too full for thee!
Room, room, still room, oh enter, enter now!```
Interviewer: With the rise of false pastors and funny doctrines, what would you advice believers
Bro Samuel Idowu: Acts 17:11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, *and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.*
Hold on to the only true God by diligent study of His word, 2Timothy 2:15.
Interviewer: What is your favorite Bible verse and why do you like this verse?
Bro Samuel Idowu: Philipians 4:8
KJV: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
It has everything to live a life worthy of the call
Interviewer: What was your first impression of Halleluyah Chapel? Is that impression still intact till now?
Bro Samuel Idowu: I just knew it ticks the box for me from the start and yes, it's the best church to grow as a youth.
Interviewer: Describe daddy Ajiroba in 3 words.
Bro Samuel Idowu: A true shepherd.
Interviewer: Do you have a mentor? Who is this person and why did you choose the person as a mentor?
Bro Samuel Idowu: I have mentors even though I haven't met some personally yet, so does that make them mentors?
Interviewer: Well, that depends on your definition of a mentor.
Bro Samuel Idowu: Alright then, if it's based in my definition, I'll love to be a teacher, so I have these two topping the list: Mr Tosin Balogun (My Mathematics teacher) and Apostle Joshua Selman
Interviewer: Would you like to share your Christian experience?
Bro Samuel Idowu: I was born into a Christian home, my father is a Pastor. So, from my early childhood I have been made to understand what it means to be a Christian. I got baptized on the 9th Of May, 2015 and attending C.A.C Hallelujah Chapel has really opened me to a lot of possibilities.
Interviewer: So, with that we have come to the end of the interview. Thank you so much for being here with us. We appreciate your time. Thank you sir.
It was a great time her tonight
Bro Samuel Idowu: It's an honor to be here ma. Kudos to you and the team.
