INTERVIEW WITH SIS TEMITOPE BALOGUN

Interviewer: Can we meet you?

Balogun Temitope: I'm Balogun Temitope Opeyemi. A 400L student of the University of Ilorin, department of educational management. I'm from Osun State.

Interviewer: What course did you choose initially?

Balogun Temitope: Educational Management.

Interviewer: What if you are not currently studying this course you are studying, what course would you rather be studying?

Balogun Temitope: Medicine and surgery... Lol.

Interviewer: Would you mind sharing your admission story with us? Was it your first Jamb and how did you feel when you finally got in?

Balogun Temitope: Admission story! Hmmm! I gained admission on my 4th trial. I was so excited.  I cried.

Interviewer: "Was there any point during this wait that you felt like giving up on University education?"

Balogun Temitope: Yes. I already told myself that I would not apply for UTME again if this last admission didn't work. And one thing I've learned is that we give up when victory is near...

Interviewer: So, are you single in the Lord or Single and searching or engaged or maybe married?

Balogun Temitope: Single in the Lord.

Interviewer: Give us a brief detail of your educational background. Primary & Secondary.

Balogun Temitope: I attended Rising Sun Group of School, Yaba, Lagos for my primary education and Wesley Girls' Secondary School, Sabo-Yaba for my secondary education..

Interviewer: Were you a prefect in school? You look like someone perfect for a head girl that will beat all the students.

Balogun Temitope: I don't remember beating anyone though but I seized some items sha.

Well,  I was the assembly prefect in Basic 4 and the assistant head girl in Basic 5.

In secondary school,  I was the assembly perfect 2 in JSS 3 and the head girl in SS3.

Interviewer: Asides from being a fine sister in the Lord, what other activities are your hobbies?

Balogun Temitope: Sewing, coding, sleeping, meeting new people, and reading.

Interviewer: Share your experience as a child

Balogun Temitope: Growing up was fun. I'm the last child so I do close to nothing at home. We don't have lots of money but at least I enjoyed the basic things a child should.

I remember we went to a restaurant every Sunday to get ice cream then.

[4/16, 6:19 PM] Balogun Temitope: I was a very gentle child,  I didn't play around, I'm always indoors.  Guess that is why I enjoy the comfort of my room to outings to date.

Interviewer: Do you have a side hustle or work aside from schooling? If yes, would you mind telling us about it and how you started?

Balogun Temitope: Yes, I do. I teach people how to code (HTML & CSS) and basic computer skills like MS Word,  PowerPoint, and Excel.

I'm also an importation coach and procurement agent; I help people buy things from China.

My teaching job started in 2017 after my computer training. The owner of the computer training gave me jobs then and boom! the rest is history.

For procurement, I paid for training to learn while waiting for admission in 2019. I can't remember vividly but I learned importation around February 2019 and I started the business fully in 2020.

Interviewer: What department do you belong to at church and are you currently holding any position?

Balogun Temitope: I'm in the interpretation, children, sanitation unit, and media team.

I'm the General Secretary of the Youth Department, the assistant HOD of the interpretation unit, and the Secretary of the media team and children unit.

Interviewer: How are you able to juggle School, Fellowship with God, Positions at school/church, and business?

That is a lot for anyone to handle.

Can you share actionable tips on how you were able to work everything out without one affecting the other?

Balogun Temitope: It's a lot of work.

There was a time I had to tell her client I can't work on her order cos there was just too much on my table.

Fellowship with God is important, so I ensure it's the first thing I do in the morning because I know the moment I step out of my room, I would be occupied with lots of things.

Another tip is to note the things you want to do the next day before going to bed. Don't spend the day the way it comes,  have a plan for each day.

I have an accountability partner and I send my daily schedule to him just to ensure that the day is spent the best way.

Another tip is just to remind oneself occasionally of the dangers of not doing what one is meant to do.

Interviewer: Would you like to share your Christian experience?

 Balogun Temitope: Definitely.

I had an encounter in 2018 and God has been faithful. My years of waiting for admission drew me to God and it was a great experience.  I realized that God is far from us only if we draw unto him with an open heart.

Interviewer: What is your favorite Bible verse and why do you like this verse?

Balogun Temitope: Well, the situation I'm in determines my favorite Bible verse. So,  I don't have a favorite verse per se.

For example, if I need God's direction on something,  Proverbs 3:5-6 is my favorite verse for that period...

Interviewer: What would be your advice to non-believers?

Balogun Temitope: God owns you and He's worth giving your all to.

I might not be sure of so many things, but one thing I'm certain of is that you can't give your life to Christ and regret it.

Surrender all to Him before it is too late.

Interviewer: With the rise of false pastors and funny doctrines, what would you advise believers?

Balogun Temitope: Be discerning.  And be careful of the pastors you tell your problems to or seek counsel from.

Interviewer: How did you become a member of CAC HALL CHAPEL?

Balogun Temitope: Before I gained admission to UNILORIN, I told my parents I will attend CAC when I get to school. It took a while before I saw Halleluyah Chapel so I was attending several churches but I knew that was not my last destination.

I was so excited when I saw the billboard at Bovas junction and I traced the church and here I am now.

Interviewer: What was your first impression of Halleluyah Chapel? Is that impression still intact till now?

Balogun Temitope: My first impression was, this is where I belong and yes, that impression is still intact.

Interviewer: Describe Daddy Ajiroba in 3 words.

Balogun Temitope: A father indeed.

Interviewer: Who are those you consider your closest pals at Hallelujah Chapel? People you would miss too when you graduate from here

Balogun Temitope: My close pals are; Sis Elizabeth Adetunji, Sis Lawal Olaide, Bro Solarin Timothy, Sis Esther Jeariogbe, Bro Ojo Samuel, Bro Ademuyiwa Alex, Bro Oluranti Taiwo, Bro Adebowale Samuel, and Bro Sunday Emmanuel.

Interviewer: Do you have a mentor? Who is this person and why did you choose the person as a mentor?

Balogun Temitope: Not exactly.  But I have people I go to when I need counsel. The situation will determine who I go to.

Interviewer: If I ask you to give a shout-out now to people who have influenced your journey in Life greatly, who and who would you give a shout-out to?

Balogun Temitope: My parents,  Pastor Ajiroba, Mr. Ajose Oluwatobiloba, Bro Solarin Timothy, Mr. Olukoya Samuel, and Sis Jeariogbe Esther.

Interviewer: What day do you consider the best and worse day of your life?

Balogun Temitope: My best days are days I have encountered.

My worst day was when my parents could not afford my school fees in Primary 1 and I was sent home during the exam. My mom had to follow me to school and she begged and cried.

I appreciate my parents for going through a lot to see to it that I attended a private primary school, and it helped me.

Interviewer: After University Education, what's next?

Balogun Temitope: Business, Masters's degree, marriage and so much more as God would be directing and helping me.

Interviewer: So, with that, we have come to the end of the interview. Thank you so much for being here with us. We appreciate your time.
