Interview with Bro Oluwayomi Kayode

Interviewer: Hello, can we meet you?

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: I am Oluwayomi Kayode Gbenga. A 400 level student of the Accounting department, University of Ilorin.

Interviewer: Nice, what state are you from?

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: I'm from Ogun State, Abeokuta North to be precise.

Interviewer: Omooo, Abeokuta people like us. We are scholars. So, what course did you choose initially?

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: Accounting was my first choice.

Interviewer: Would you mind sharing your admission story with us? Was it your first Jamb and how did you feel when you finally got in?

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: Yeah, it was my first jamb. I intended to choose FUNAAB but I discovered that they were not offering accounting at that time so, on the advice of one of my teachers, I chose TASUED. When my Jamb result came out, I was advised by another of my teachers to apply to the University of Ilorin because of the high fees of TASUED. I almost lost hope of admission because I got admission very late but all to the glory of God, I was admitted.

Interviewer: Halleluyah. We thank God for that, sir. So, are you single in the Lord or Single and searching or engaged or maybe married?

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: Single in the Lord.

Interviewer: Give us a brief detail of your educational background. Primary & Secondary.

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: Ok. I got my First School Leaving Certificate from Covenant Kiddies Schools between 2002-2012 and I later attended Upper Chamber School where I got SSCE from 2012-to 2018

Interviewer: Were you a prefect in school? You look like someone perfect for a health prefect or even a head boy.

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: Hmmm, I love listening to music, I think that's one of the best things I love doing. Also, I'm a football fan. I love playing and also watching football. I also love writing and also traveling. It's safe to say that music is me.

Interviewer: This is nice. Share your experience as a child?

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: Hmm… As a child that grew up in a Christian home, I spent my life like any other pastor's child. Well not from a rich home, my parent ensures we have what we need with God's help. I do not think I did anything special during my childhood days except going to school, church and reading, and then maybe children plays so I think I can stop there.

Interviewer: What department do you belong to a church and are you currently holding any position?

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: I belong to the drama, choir, and prayer band unit in the church and I'm not holding any position

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: Ok, I'm a computer operator, a graphics designer, a content writer, and a teacher.

Interviewer: How are you able to juggle School, Fellowship with God, and life as a computer operator, graphics designer, writer,r and teacher? That is a lot for anyone to handle. Can you share actionable tips on how you were able to work everything out without one affecting the other?

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: Ok. The first thing is that I learned something from my roommate, Bro Olakunle which is to always map out all my activities for each day. Well, I don't usually write it out but I make sure before I get off my bed, I picture how my day will go. At times it might not go as planned but it has always helped me ward off unnecessary activities. All I am trying to say is that proper planning and God's help are key to managing all these activities.

Interviewer: Wow, this is good and I think everyone should learn this. Thank you for sharing sir. What day do you consider the best and worst day of your life?

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: Every day is the best day as I try to ensure value is added to myself each day and I tend to get better every day

The worst day😎... I can't think of any now... I do not think I have any worst days.

Interviewer: At this point, I must say that I am fascinated by your personality. What if you are not currently studying this course you are studying, what course would you rather be studying?

Kay: I will say if I had known earlier, I would have opted for something related to science. Well, I just developed this interest in science. I would have loved to study something science-related.

Interviewer: Well, science is life so I can't agree less. After University Education, what's next?

Kay: Second degree.

Interviewer: I ask you to give a shout-out now to people who have influenced your journey in Life greatly, who and who would you give a shout-out to?

Kay: A whole lot of people… My parent, my uncle, my pastors, Realmz sir, Bro Timothy, My Roomie of life, my friends... The list is endless.

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: Christ is the most current news. If you don't know Christ, you are not current. Know Him and be current in all spheres.

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: Know Jesus yourself. Not the God of your pastor so you won't fall prey to false prophets and doctrines

Interviewer: What is your favorite Bible verse and why do you like this verse?

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: Gal 5:16

Walk in the spirit and you will fulfill the lusts of the flesh. It has always helped me to live above sin and I already have the antidote to Satan's lies.

Interviewer: What was your first impression of Halleluyah Chapel? Is that impression still intact till now?

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: It has changed. The prayers were tiring for me because I found it too much and not very necessary based on my church background.

Interviewer: Describe daddy Ajiroba in 3 words.

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: A Father indeed.

Interviewer: Do you have a mentor? Who is this person and why did you choose the person as a mentor?

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: Ezra Danjuma Akama is my mentor. Well, I needed a Christian who has passed through the path I am on presently and he fits the profile.

Interviewer: Would you like to share your Christian experience?

Bro Oluwayomi Kayode: It has been one which God has been faithful. He has always opened my eyes to know Him more and never failed on His promises.
