Interview with Bro Emmanuel Apeh

Interviewer: Can we meet you?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel : My name is Emmanuel Enemona Apeh. I'm the first born child of two children from Benue state.

Interviewer: What course are you studying and was it your first choice?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel : I'm studying Computer Science, currently in my final year and yes, by God's grace it was the course I applied for

Interviewer: Would you mind sharing your admission story with us? Was it your first Jamb and how did you feel when you finally got in?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel : I wrote Jamb twice -the first one, I applied to study Computer Science in UI but I didn't meet up to the cut-off mark for post-utme which was 50 and I scored 41 so I had to wait till the next year (2018) and I applied to University of Ilorin to study Computer Science

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: Before writing JAMB the next year, I wanted to apply for JUPEB but then, the money was quite expensive and I had to wait to write JAMB

Interviewer: Was there any point during this wait that you felt like giving up on University education?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: Yes o… I cried all through the night when I discovered I wasn't going to gain admission to UI b'cos my score didn't meet up the required one, and all I just thought to myself was that I will not apply again and I will just be serving God, that was all I would do. The reason was that my JAMB score was okay to get me through and I wasn't sure if I would be able to get up to that the next year, but I thank God He helped me through.

Interviewer: So, are you single in the Lord or Single and searching or engaged or maybe married?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: I'm single

Interviewer: Give us a brief detail of your educational background. Primary & Secondary.

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: I did my Primary and Secondary education in the same school (Feranmi Comprehensive High School and it is located in Lagos), I started in primary 1 after relocating from where I lived. I held the position of Library prefect when I was in SS3 and I graduated from high school in 2017.

Interviewer: Asides being a fine brother in the Lord, what other activities are your hobbies?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: During my free time, I love participating in things that involves creativity and problem solving, my other hobbies are listening to music, watching movies -action and war movies.

Interviewer: Share your experience as a child? 😌

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: During my childhood days, I liked drawing and I do spend most of my times drawing whatever cartoon picture I see, I did play football at some times but then, I wasn't good at it and many times, other people would not include me in their team b'cos they wouldn't want the opponent to score easily. Other times, I watched movies, engaged in one craft or the other ( knitting, carving names and text on plywood) and playing with my neighbors.

Interviewer: What department do you belong to at church and are you currently holding any position?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: Prayer Band and Drama and I was appointed as the Financial Secretary recently.

Interviewer: Do you have a side hustle or work asides schooling? If yes, would you mind telling us about it and how you started?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: I'm into graphics design. I developed the interest while applying for admission, I used to visit a friend and he was into it, so whenever I got to his place, I will see some of the designs he has done and I really liked them that was how I started learning.

Interviewer: How are you able to juggle School, Fellowship with God, Positions at school/church and business? That is a lot for anyone to handle. Can you share actionable tips on how you were able to work everything out without one affecting the other.

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: Okay, like I said earlier, I was just appointed the position of a Financial Secretary. But then, for the other aspects, I have been able to handle each part by God's help, we all need to set priorities and not everything can come first in our lives.

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: God takes the more priority for me, at times, I can get occupied with other activities and it looks like there is not just enough time to do everything and I may even be away from God for some days but in those days, I just pray to God to help me and I try to reduce or take away whatever it is that has been hindering me for those days. I don't do the graphics design job all the time, b'cos I still want to build myself well enough before I put myself out for more jobs.

Interviewer: What day do you consider the best and worst day of your life?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: Best day was when I gained admission to study in the University. I really don't know what my worst day is.

Interviewer: I must say that I am fascinated by your personality. What if you are not currently studying this course you are studying, what course would you rather be studying?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: Electrical and Electronical Engineering

Interviewer: After University Education, what's next?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: I plan on going for my Masters in computer science

Interviewer: If I ask you to give a shout-out now to people who have influence your journey in Life greatly, who and who would you give a shout-out to?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: My parents, Mr Emma (the one I gained graphics design interest from) and Faith.

Interviewer: Who are those you consider your closest pals at Hallelujah Chapel? People you would miss too when you graduate from here.

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: Bro Sam and Bro Emma (my roommates), Bro Timothy and Sister Temitope.

Interviewer: What would be your advice to non-believers?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: When you choose to follow God and live righteously, you'll certainly face though situations but the joy of it is that, you have God on your side and He will always come through for you, though He may not come early but He will never be late

Interviewer: With the rise of false pastors and funny doctrines, what would you advice believers

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: I will say that it is best we have an intimate relationship with God and this can be accomplished by putting in time and effort to study God's word and fellowship with Him through prayer, with that, we can be able to identify the false Pastors and Doctrines. The bible says in the book of John 10 that God's sheep knows His voice whenever he calls out to them. That's my advice to myself and other believers.

Interviewer: What is your favorite Bible verse and why do you like this verse?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: I have quite a number of verses that are my favorite but permit me to mention two of them. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever (Isaiah 40:8). But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:3).

Interviewer: What was your first impression of Halleluyah Chapel? Is that impression still intact till now?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: I didn't want to go to any other church apart from a Baptist church, but then, when I newly joined, I saw they were many other young people like me and everyone related well with one another so, I just decided to continue worshipping at Halleluyah Chapel and yes, it's still intact.

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: Visionary, Concerned and Diligent.

Interviewer: Do you have a mentor? Who is this person and why did you choose the person as a mentor?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: I don't have a mentor at the moment.

Interviewer: Would you like to share your Christian experience?

Bro Apeh Emmanuel: I'll say that, at each level since I became born again, God has helped me to learn new things and to experience Him in new ways. At this point in my life, I'm working towards building an intimate relationship with God.

Interviewer: So, with that we have come to the end of the interview. Thank you so much for being here with us. We appreciate your time.
